During what seemed to be a normal DUI stop, the police discovered a baby spider monkey wearing a onesie inside the vehicle. An officer in California pulled over a "Rolls Royce Ghost" for "excessive speed," according to a statement on

After testing the driver, the Madera County officer concluded that they were under the influence. Not only was he in possession of cannabis, but he also had a baby spider monkey in the car. The cops believed the animal dressed in an adorable pink onesie to be about 1 month old.
Baby Spider Monkey Business
"Primates are illegal to own as pets in California," said the post from CHP (California Highway Police) Madera. "The driver was found to be under the influence and placed under arrest for DUI, and possession of cannabis for sale."
Authorities identified the criminal to be Ali Mused Adel Mohamed, age 27, from Southern California. They have already sent him to Madera County Jail and have confiscated the baby spider monkey.
It was too late at the time to do anything about the monkey, so the arresting officer offered to care for the monkey overnight. The following morning, he brought the creature to Madera County's Animal Services, according to the LA Times.

Facebook to post about their new visitor, whom they nicknamed Marcel. If you're a fan of the hit sitcom Friends, you'll recognize that name. They got the name from the monkey that the character Ross Geller had in the show.
"We had the cutest visit from a spider monkey today," the post wrote. "No more monkeying around at the Madera Animal Shelter!"
Director of Madera County Animal Services, Amy Toler, cared for Marcel that morning before the Department of Fish and Wildlife took him. It was the Animal Services' first time with a monkey, so they contacted Fresno Chaffee Zoo for help on monkey care.
