Adam Sandler Called the Police Less than 48 Hours After Officiating Taylor Swift's Wedding

Adam Sandler reportedly called a non-emergency police line to locate a local basketball court after arriving in Nantucket

Adam Sandler is what's known as a hooper. Wherever he goes, he's going to find a basketball court, either to get some shots up or to run a pick-up game. Just hours before the Hollywood megastar officiated Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding, Sandler was snapping hoops in New York, despite the fact that the city is currently in the middle of a heatwave.

So, it shouldn't be a surprise to learn that shortly after arriving in Nantucket, Mass, two days after officiating Taylor and Travis' wedding, he was on the lookout for the nearest basketball court. Unfortunately for Sandler, that's exactly how he ended up making headlines.

Rather than looking online or calling around his undoubtedly long list of contacts, Sandler opted to phone the police. Granted, he did call their non-emergency line, yet, the reason for his call was simply to locate the best spot to hoop.

"Sandler said, 'Hey, I'm here on your island, and I like to play basketball. Can you tell me where there's a basketball court I could play on?' " Public safety dispatcher Chris Reynolds told local outlet the Nantucket Current.

Reynolds ultimately put Sandler on a court in Backus Lane, off Surfside Road. As you would expect, Sandler rolled up and began 'ballin' out' with some of the locals in the area.

Everyone Was Pleased To See Adam Sandler

When speaking to the Current, Andrew Kesler, a local who was playing on the Backus Lane court at the time, recalled the moment Sandler rolled through.

"Adam Sandler rolled in a car and started playing pick-ups with the boys," Kesler said. "He's like 'guys let me stretch I'm going to hop in.' "

If you're wondering what sort of hooper Sandler is, Kesler made sure to answer that question for you.

"Great passing and playmaking, decent lay-ups, hesitated to shoot the ball," he said.

This isn't the first time Sandler has made news for finding a local pick-up game. However, it might be a first to use a police line to find the best spot within a local area. Either way, this is just another reason why Sandler is like all of us. All he wants to do is shoot some hoops, and who can't relate to that?
