It's believed that Norton's death is the first of its kind in Australia. According to reports, a coroner's report, which was released on Wednesday, October 28, attributed Norton's death to complications stemming from the use of unapproved peptide products.

"Coroner David Ryan found Norton's death was a result of complications caused by the unapproved peptide products CJC-1295 and Ipamorelin, which had been prescribed to him by a doctor," The Daily Mail reported. "CJC-1295 and Ipamorelin are peptides that work together to stimulate the body's natural production of growth hormone."

The coroner continued by noting that Norton had consumed the peptides in "amounts of the medication in excess of the dose prescribed." Interestingly, it is believed that a doctor prescribed the medication for the action star.

Norton had reportedly sought medical help following a bilateral shoulder reconstruction. It was then that he began consulting with Dr. Jerzy Muchnicki in March 2025. The martial arts expert was believed to have been dealing with fatigue, diminished physical recovery, muscle loss, and shoulder pain.
