Gracie, who is between three and four years old, disappeared from the Cedar Hollow Ranch in Texas on June 12.
According to the Real County Sheriff's Office, Gracie is still missing as of June 25, and the search continues. She was last seen ambling by a game camera west of Leakey.
In its post, the Real County agency shared an image of Gracie to better assist with the search.
"The Cedar Hollow Ranch is missing a Giraffe named 'Gracie.' She has rounded ears. Last seen on a game camera west of Leakey. The owner is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the capture and safe return of Gracie the Giraffe," the "LOST GIRAFFE" post from the Real County Animal Rescue-Shelter reads.
A public alert has been issued urging residents in the Leakey area to remain on the lookout.
Ranch Owner Offering Cash Reward For Information on Lost Giraffe
Ranch owner Vick Jones told the New York Times the giraffe is known for roaming more freely than others on the property and has a distinctive feature: notably rounded ears.
The ranch, which is home to several hundred exotic animals, said steep canyon terrain typically helps keep giraffes contained. Still, Gracie managed to move beyond an enclosure gate and into surrounding Hill Country brush.
Cedar Hollow Ranch has housed giraffes for more than 30 years, Jones told The New York Times. Jones added that this isn't the first time one of his giraffes escaped. However, he noted that they typically don't get very far before being returned home.
For information leading to Gracie's safe return, Jones is offering a $5000 reward.
Anyone who believes they spotted Gracie recently should contact Jones at (830) 279-5822 or the Real County Sheriff's Office at (830) 232-5201.
