Nashville-based singer-songwriter Nate Fredrick celebrates the beauty of learning to love on the pedal steel-driven "Love Someone," the latest release from Fredrick's forthcoming debut album Different Shade of Blue (out Feb. 26).
"Every relationship I've ever been in has taught me something," Fredrick tells Wide Open Country. "In the relationships I've given the most, I've received the most back. Sometimes in the form of hard lessons. A lot of times, learning to love someone else is more beneficial than receiving the love that you want at that moment. Vinnie Paolizzi and I discussed the idea of this in-depth as we wrote this song, and producer David Dorn brought the personality of this song to life with his arrangement. Coupled with an amazing band and pedal steel harmonies of Rusty Danmyer, 'Love Someone' is sonically my favorite song on this record."

Raised in Missouri, Fredrick, who counts Guy Clark, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Van Morrison among his influences, started playing guitar at the age of 12, but didn't start writing songs until a decade later.
"A friend and I were running from the police one night, and I accidentally fell off a cliff," Fredrick says in a press release. "During the two-year recovery process, I started actually making music instead of just playing music. The first show I ever had, I played with my jaw wired shut."
Different Shade of Blue was recorded at Nashville's Farmland Studios with producer David Dorn.
