"According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Jen filed a petition for divorce Tuesday in Utah. Jen also submitted a proposed parenting plan, though the details of the filing are private," TMZ reports.

Despite Jen and Zac's relationship issues playing out on television, no details regarding the reason for the split were revealed on the court records. Furthermore, there is currently no information as to any custody agreement between the two.

Jen and Zac met in 2018. They found each other on the Mormon dating app 'Mutual.' Just a year later, the couple was engaged and was married in June 2019. Jen and Zac have three children, Nora, Lucas, and Penelope, with a fourth on the way. The couple had previously attended therapy to work on their marital issues. Jen previously noted that their relationship had gotten stronger.

Unfortunately for the couple, there has clearly been a breakdown along the way. Jen is scheduled to star in the spinoff series The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County after the family recently moved from Utah to California. It's currently unclear if the relationship breakdown will become clear once that new show airs.

Jen Affleck Didn't Feel Supported by Zac

In season five of Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives, tensions between Jen and Zac were clear. Zac wasn't supportive of some of Jen's career goals, including her desire to appear on Sports Illustrated.

"Zac was taught growing up to not only be modest himself but for it to be an expectation for women around him," she said during the series, per Page Six. "Definitely been hard navigating [her] career goals" while also honoring Zac's "traditional values and traditional views. I feel like if he truly loved me unconditionally, he would want to support me, and I don't even feel like there's a conversation of a compromise."

Fans of the show will undoubtedly seek answers to what led to such a big decision. However, neither Jen nor Zac are obligated to share any details of their private lives. All we know for now is that the upcoming spinoff is going to be the best chance of getting some answers.
