Officer Allegedly Broke Into Woman's Home While Intoxicated

The alleged inebriated Officer, Michael E. McGuire, was brought up on charges of breaking and entering. He allegedly used a window to climb into the woman's home in South End at around 1:30 am on Sunday morning (November 1).

However, the woman whose home McGuire broke into was no stranger to him. According to the outlet, the woman was the ex-girlfriend of the officer. And the two had reconnected over drinks the night prior.

Court documents allege that the officer had become so intoxicated that the woman encouraged the officer to go home at around 10:30 pm.

Court documents also alleged that once the cop's ex-girlfriend returned to her home, she found McGuire asleep in her bed.

"The victim stated she asked the suspect to leave the apartment multiple times and he refused," the report stated.

The officer also allegedly "bragged" about climbing up the fire escape to the building to gain access to the apartment through a window.

The report adds that once McGuire refused to comply with the woman's demands, she and her roommate stepped out of her apartment to call the police.

Officer Yanked From Duty Following Drunken Incident

When they arrived at the building, McGuire met the responding officers in the lobby. It was at that point that he told officers that the woman had abused him and said that he did not want her to be reprimanded for it.

"Officers observed a small laceration on the suspect's forehead," the report stated (via the New York Post). 'When McGuire was asked how he was injured, he stated the victim hit him with an object but said, 'I did not want to get her in trouble."

After it was discovered that McGuire was a police officer, a supervisor was immediately called to the scene. The officer was subsequently removed from duty and placed on suspension.

McGuire was arraigned Tuesday (November 3) in Boston Municipal Court. He was released on his own recognizance and ordered to stay away from the victim.
