Ines Gomez Mont, who went viral for proposing to Brady, was arrested by the United States Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE). She was taken into custody in Miami on Friday (October 30). According to a Tuesday (November 3) report from the US Sun.
Host Arrested In Connection With Fraud Ring
Mont, a television host for "TV Azteca" and "Televisa," was arrested for a connection to a $160 million fraud scheme. The host and her husband, lawyer Victor Manuel Álvarez Puga, are wanted in Mexico for their involvement (via The New York Post).
Per the outlet, the couple allegedly used shell companies, fraudulent invoices, and contracts. To collect funds from the country's Interior Ministry and launder them.
Puga is believed to have a connection to several prominent figures. These include politicians, government officials, lawyers, business people, and celebrities, according to the report.
Mont and her husband allegedly fled Mexico in 2021. After finding out that they were fugitives on the authorities' radar.
Álvarez Puga was swept up by Miami ICE officials in September 2025 because of his immigration status but was released on bond. He remains at large.
Mont Denies Fraud Allegations
Mont, on the other hand, is awaiting extradition back to Mexico.
The television host previously said that the allegations against her are "absolutely false."
"Indeed, according to the press, the authorities accuse me of allegedly receiving money from two public contracts (which amount to 3 billion pesos) and of belonging to organized crime. Those facts are absolutely false," she wrote on Instagram back in September 2021.
She also said that the allegations against her are an "injustice."
"That is, without any justification, they put me on the same level as a drug dealer or terrorist. Seems like an injustice to me," she added.
"To be clear, I've never stolen a weight. I haven't received any money from those contracts. Let alone I've never seen or had 3 billion pesos in my life. I'm a TV host and a full-time mom. And under no concept do I belong to organized crime."
