Fans have been concerned about the Pro Bowler since. On Tuesday, Nov. 3, Lions head coach Dan Campbell gave an update on the linebacker during an interview with local radio station 97.1 The Ticket.
Jack Campbell Is "Improving"
As PEOPLE reports, Dan confirmed that the former first-round draft pick's neck was injured in the second half of Sunday's game. He also shared an update on the beloved player.
"It's not easy because he's always going to be on our minds over here," said Dan. "The good news is he is improving."
The 50-year-old coach added that "knowing [Jack is] doing better" and keeping the other players informed on the positive updates "helps everybody just get a better handle on this."
"All we can do at this point is just continue to pray for Jack, put our thoughts on him when we have a minute, and on his family — and it's working, like I said, because he's improving," shared Dan.
Detroit Lions Head Coach Dan Campbell Is Asking for Prayers
Dan asked listeners to continue praying for Jack.
"We'll leave it at that, so continue to pray for him. But it is positive," he told fans.
During Sunday's game, Jack collided with Vikings tight end and former teammate T.J. Hockenson's hip when making a tackle in the fourth quarter. The linebacker then landed face-first against the turf. He did not move for several moments.
Players from both the Lions and Vikings took a knee as they tried to hold back their emotions while the medical team cared for Jack. He was then placed on a stretcher and taken off the field. Jack has been in the hospital since Sunday.
Dan told reporters yesterday that he visited Jack and his family.
"I got to go see him last night. It was good. It was positive," he said. "Got to see his parents, talk to his wife, and everybody's in good spirits."
