"It Hasn't Stopped Me": Late Heavy Metal Legend's Son Opens up About Living With MS

Jack Osbourne is a real trouper. He had to endure the painful death of his heavy metal rocker dad, Ozzy Osbourne, last year. Furthermore, he has been living with multiple sclerosis for 14 years. But don't even think about feeling sorry for him.

In fact, Osbourne adamantly stiff-armed that suggestion. He recently explained to hosts Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Christina Applegate on their MeSsy podcast on Tuesday, November 3, "Don't [expletive] give me your pity." That leaves no doubt about how Osbourne regards his illness and how he manages it.

He clarified, "Sure, maybe there are moments where I need a bit of a hug. But I didn't like that feeling, and I didn't like someone telling me I was a disease."

Osbourne "Feels Like a Bit of a Fraud"

He acknowledges that others who were diagnosed much more recently than he was might be "in [a] much worse position." Osbourne added, "They're having a much harder time, and I'm kind of like, it does affect me [but] it hasn't stopped me, and it hasn't slowed me down."

Christina Applegate found a glimmer of lightheartedness in the somber circumstances. She recently went public with the shocking fact that the MS diagnosis she got five years ago was not correct. "Talk about being a fraud. I don't even have [MS] anymore. Jeez!"

He Discussed His Meds

Per Page Six, Jack Osbourne says he is not taking meds for his MS at this time. In the words of the outlet, he "unintentionally" cut down the dosage in 2019 when he was in the midst of a divorce and his insurance "wasn't valid."

He mentioned, "I'm not on a medication right now. And I went, 'I wonder how long I can go without meds,' just cause I was feeling stupid. I went about eight years, and it wasn't until kind of last year did I start having some things [happen]."

However, Osbourne has not rejected his entire health regimen. He still consults his doctors and has MRIs, per the outlet.

MS Made Osbourne Take Stock of His Life

If anything, having MS has seemingly made Jack Osbourne reassess his life, his choices, and his attitude. He observed to Christina Applegate and Jaime-Lynn Sigler, "The lessons for me really began when [expletive] started breaking because that's when I had to pause and go, 'OK, how come this isn't working now? What do I have to change? It forces a deeper look. So with MS, it shifted so many for me, mentally, physically, emotionally. I just started taking things a little more seriously."
