Parton's Niece, Rebecca Seaver, had been hired as the person to oversee her aunt Dolly's Life of Many Colors Museum. It officially opened on September 29 in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. However, according to a Friday (October 30) report from TMZ, Rebecca has been axed from her position by Parton's estate. The report also adds that all of Rebecca's staff was let go. Though it is unclear how large the staff was.
Rebecca Seaver Axed From Position at Parton's Museum
Rebecca was named the executive director of the museum. She and Jolene, the creator's sister, Rachel Parton George, played a major role in executing the project.
Following her termination, Rebecca's brother, Bryan Seaver, released a statement on social media. He expressed his support for her.
"I am very proud of my sister Rebecca Seaver and her endeavors building Dolly's archive and museum, and my cousin Danielle Parton is my closest family and my buddy. We are nearest in age and have always been pals," Bryan said (via WhiskeyRiff). "I have always and will forever sing her praises and support her as she goes about her journey and career. Both of these women are dynamos in their fields, and there is no feud between us. I love them both with all my heart"
Seaver's Brother Was Fired From Security Position in September
Bryan Seaver has made headlines for his own reasons over the past weeks. He served as the head of his Aunt's security team for more than two decades. But in the weeks following Parton's death, he was axed from his position by the estate. According to a report from TMZ, Seaver received the notice on September 16. Bryan's termination letter, which was obtained by the outlet, notified him that he and his security companies had been "immediately dismissed" from all of Parton's properties.
In response, Bryan and his team blasted Dolly's longtime business manager, Danny Nozell. In a statement to TMZ, Seaver and his team say that they were "dismayed by the unexpected and so far unexplained actions" in the weeks following his aunt's death.
"We remain unshakably resolved to fulfill her final directive to protect her family. And we refuse to be intimidated by those whose actions we believe are being taken in bad faith and with the intent to profit from the life of someone who willingly gave so," he added.
At the time of writing, Rebecca has not spoken out about her termination
