Actress Speaks Out Following Shocking Mid-Air Plane Incident

The 'Legally Blonde' actress apologized in the video to anyone she had "disappointed, hurt, frightened, alarmed."

Selma Blair has issued a video apology for a shocking mid-air plane incident, per Variety. As we reported on when it happened, the actress had allegedly injured two flight attendants and kicked a nurse while trying to open the plane's door, before being arrested, although reports were inconsistent at the time.

Following her arrest over the alleged incident, a representative explained that "Selma experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct. Upon landing, she received immediate medical attention."

Her attorney also stated that "Ms. Blair missed several doses of... a powerful medication that controls severe neurological symptoms."

And now, per Variety, she has released a post online detailing what happened, and apologizing. The "Legally Blonde" actress explained that as the proceedings were ongoing, she "had been advised" not to say very much.

"What I can tell you, though, is very simple, and the truest thing I know about myself, and that not one day ever have I intended to hurt or frighten anyone a day in my life."

She then proceeded to apologize: "And so to the people that I disappointed, that I hurt, I frightened, alarmed: I am so sorry."

The Actress Previously Noted She Had Turned to Alcohol to Manage Her Symptoms

This comes after Blair had previously spoke out about her multiple sclerosis (MS) diagnosis, and how she handled symptoms. We reported on this when the revelation was made. She explained how she had turned to alcohol to manage the symptoms.

She opened up on an episode of The Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg Show about how she used alcohol to manage her "headache symptoms, anxiety, and nerve pain."

"But then, you know, one glass isn't enough. Two glasses isn't great. Three is better. Four is horrible. And when you're depressed, that is never going to be a good solution," she continued.

She said that she knows it isn't good for her, too. "I wish I could be someone that could have two glasses of wine... And just be flirty and fun and listen better. I'm still a human being, but I recognize that alcohol is not good medicine for me."
