Chelsie Randolph and her husband, Rigel, of Temple, Texas, were actually en route with their two other kids to deliver their latest little one via cesarean section at St. David's Women's Center in north Austin in the early hours of Oct. 16.

However, the bun in the oven had other ideas.

According to local outlet KXAN, Chelsie's water broke in the truck. Even though they were supposed to deliver the baby by appointment later that morning, the labor got more intense as the family truck barreled down the I-35 highway in Texas.

"I was like, 'Okay, I think we're going to make it,' until I felt the head," Chelsie graphically recalled to the local station. "I was like, 'Okay, we're not going to make it.' "

Meanwhile, her trusty husband failed to find an exit, eventually just pulling over at RM 1431. He looked on as his wife and mother of his children, who also happens to be a trained nurse, delivered their baby in the back of the truck.

"I think my body knew what to do. I did exactly what I was supposed to do," she told KXAN about delivering her baby daughter.

Indeed, the truck delivery was smooth, reportedly clocking in at just ten minutes. Baby Rylan arrived in the world at 4:40 am.

"She pulls the baby onto her chest; Rylan cries within seconds, and I realized she's okay," Rigel recalled to KXAN. "Then my very next concern is, what about mama?"

First responders managed to find the family along  I-35 using GPS about ten minutes after the baby was born.

Baby Rylan and Chelsie were then transported to Saint David's Women's Center via ambulance. Their family was in tow in the birthing truck. Mother and child were both found to be perfectly healthy, according to KXAN. The newborn reportedly weighed in at 7 lbs. and 6 oz.

The news segment also shared a series of shots of the happy family after the harrowing truck birth. The fun snaps included Chelsie holding newborn Rylan in the hospital bed as her children posed with them.
