Sanderson, 47, ruptured his bicep tendon off the bone in his left arm, according to Blabbermouth. He will be replaced temporarily by former Breaking Benjamin drummer Shaun Foist.

Sanderson informed fans of his untimely injury in a video message on Oct. 23, saying, "Hey, guys. Neil here. As some of you may know, when I'm not on tour with Three Days Grace, I'm an outdoorsman. I'm a woodsman, and I love nature. But sometimes nature gets the best of you. That's unfortunately what's happened here."

Three Days Grace Drummer Will Change Roles During Recovery

"Without getting into details, I fully ruptured my bicep tendon off the bone, and I need emergency surgery, which is happening Tuesday. So the bad news is I'm not playing drums on this tour. The good news is I am playing keyboards and backup singing on this tour, and we've brought in Shaun Foist to fill in on drums."

Sanderson continued, "Unfortunately, I am missing three shows due to the surgery that's happening in a few days. So I won't be in Houston [October 25], San Antonio [October 26] or Rogers, Arkansas [October 28], which bums me out. But I'm gonna get this done, get it fixed, and be back on stage and on keys, backup singing. We're gonna make it fun."

Sanderson is a founding member of the award-winning alternative rock band Three Days Grace. The iconic band released its self-titled debut album in 2003, featuring hit songs "Home", "Just Like You", "Let You Down", and "I Hate Everything About You".

Last year, Three Days Grace became the second act in the history of Billboard's Mainstream Rock Airplay chart to tally 20 No. 1s, earning the milestone with "Kill Me Fast".

Three Days Grace first topped Mainstream Rock Airplay in 2004 with their sophomore entry, "Just Like You."

The band's first 10 leaders were with frontman Adam Gontier, followed by seven with his replacement vocalist, Matt Walst, before the most recent three that sport both singers after Gontier rejoined the group.

Three Days Grace recently kicked off the fall leg of its "Alienation" tour. Finger Eleven and I Prevail are the tour's opening acts, according to the band's website.
