One thing that distinguishes country music stars is their to-the-bone authenticity. No matter how wealthy and successful they are, they remain remarkably down-to-earth and relatable. And they are often humble. Many of them have been candid about their epic struggles on the way to the top. Being popular and famous is not something they take for granted. They deeply appreciate their fans and always want to please them. Which brings me to Cody Johnson. The beloved "'Til You Can't" singer from Texas has had a cherished dream since he was eight years old. That future goal was not fancy or unattainable, but it sure meant a lot to him. CoJo eventually made it happen. He recently opened up about how he did that.

What Was Johnson's Dream?
The country star spoke frankly on CBS Mornings about the dream he had since his boyhood. To a degree, Johnson has gone his own way. He has resolutely been true to himself, sharing that he refused to wear a baseball cap rather than a cowboy hat just because Nashville wanted him to. It must have been hard to resist all that pressure, yet Cody Johnson did. His identity and integrity came first.
He was also stubborn about his dream of someday owning a ranch and living there with his family. Johnson observed, "It was one of those things I said, 'One of these days, if I can just make it enough financially to afford a piece of land and build my wife and my kids a big, nice house, and to have good horses and good cattle, that's what I'm gonna spend my money on.'"
He Achieved It and More
And he did it. CoJo now resides in the Lone Star State on a ranch with his wife and kids, plus horses and cattle. He admitted that there were times that he thought it might never happen. "Truthfully, at my core, I didn't feel like I was capable of attaining a goal that big. To be a huge country music star and own a cattle ranch? It was like... I felt like there was a ceiling of, 'Well, I'm only allowed to go to here.'"
Cody Johnson broke through that ceiling and aimed for the sky.
