Being on the road, musicians get used to awkward moments. There's always going to be something unexpected that pops up. It's just part of the experience. Of course, there's always that one moment that sticks with you, and you probably wish you could get back. During a recent discussion with Alex Warren for Rolling Stone's Musicians on Musicians, Megan Moroney recalled hearing her song being played while having full-body laser hair removal.

"I was getting laser hair removal on my entire body," Moroney said. "I was getting zapped in places you shouldn't be zapped."
Hilariously, the song Moroney heard was her 2023 hit single, "'I'm Not Pretty'... You just hear that, and I was like, "Okay,'" she recalled.
Now, if that's not awkward, then I don't know what is!
Moroney seems to be able to laugh about the situation now. Yet, in the moment, she probably wanted the ground to open up. What a choice of song to come on the radio while you're getting such an intimate treatment.
Nevertheless, Moroney always seems to find a way of making lemonade in these instances. Take her 2022 breakout hit "Tennessee Orange." That song was about her falling for a Tennessee fan, even though her allegiances lay with the Georgia Bulldogs.
Megan Moroney Wasn't the Only One To Hear Her Song at an Inopportune Time
During the conversation between Moroney and Warren, the YouTuber admitted that he's also heard his music at a far from ideal time. Warren recalled being on Warren Street while his friend was getting arrested for what, we don't know. Yet, when the cop opened his car door, he could hear his song "Ordinary" being played.
"The cop in their car was playing 'Ordinary,' which was pretty rad," he recalled.
The concept of Warren's latest batch of interviews is incredibly fun. For most of us, music can become embedded in a moment in time. We remember what song was playing on our first date, our wedding night, or at canon moments in our life. For those who make the songs, though? Well, it always seems that they're hearing them in public at the worst possible moments.
In a way, that's kind of hilarious to think about.
