Barr sat down for an interview with The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday (October 20). One of the things the sitcom star was grilled about was Chuck Lorre's claims about her and Tom Arnold in his new memoir, Sitcom.

Roseanne Comes to Ex- Husband Tom Arnold's Defense

In his memoir, the Two and a Half Men creator alleged that he and other writers were instructed to add Arnold's name to Roseanne scripts as if he had contributed to it. Tom came out and vehemently denied Lorre's claims. And Roseanne stood behind her ex-husband.

"Unbelievably — I don't think you'll hear me say this often — but Tom Arnold is telling the truth for once," Barr said to The Outlet. "Talk about the paradigm switch here. Tom Arnold is defending me. I have to thank him for that. That's the first time he's done something right by me in his f*****g life. Thanks, Tom."

Arnold had a pretty awesome response to Roseanne's quip. He wasn't offended at all. In fact, he saw Barr's comments as more of a personal achievement than anything.

"Don't give up. Don't ever give up," he wrote (via PEOPLE). "33 years ago I predicted I would do something so cool my 1st X Wife Roseanne would be forced to say something almost nice about me."

He also added: "Hell finally froze over today."

Arnold Denies Lorre's Claims

Arnold denies ever giving himself credit for scripts that he did not contribute to. However, he did say he encouraged Lorre to make sure every writer received a script credit each year because it meant additional pay.

"I know one thing I said to Chuck early on... I said, 'You're in charge of the writers, but they have to have their name on a script every year,' Arnold said to Entertainment Weekly. "Each one of these guys.' Because you get more money, you just get more. I want everybody to have their name on a script," Arnold said. "We'll write extra scripts, whatever we gotta do."
