A bodybuilder suddenly collapsed and died in the midst of a competition in England. His death took place only one day shy of his 34th birthday. Making the situation even more tragic is the fact that he was reportedly a newlywed. Per The New York Post, Mateusz Chmura "was competing in just his second event when he collapsed during his routine at Sunday's PCA British Finals in Telford, England...."

His cause of death remains uncertain at this time. Chmura was married just two months ago. His wife, Patrycja, survives him.
A Statement Noting Chmura's Shocking Death Was Issued by the Physical Culture Association
The Physical Culture Association of the United Kingdom issued a sorrowful statement on Instagram upon Chmura's passing. It reads in part, "It is with deep sadness that we share the news that Mateusz Chmura, 33, from Wakefield, has passed away. Mateusz was competing in the Classic Bodybuilding Medium category at the PCA British Finals at the Telford International Centre on Sunday 18 October.
Our deepest condolences go to his wife, family, friends and everyone who knew and loved him.
During his category, Mateusz collapsed on stage. He was treated at the venue by paramedics, the local ambulance crew and the Midlands Air Ambulance team, before being taken by ambulance to hospital. Sadly, despite everyone's best efforts, he later passed away in hospital."
Chmura's Widow Warns People About an Allegedly Bogus Fundraiser
His widow posted a long and heartfelt message on Instagram. She adamantly cautions people about a fundraiser that she says she did not authorize. Chmura's widow urged the public not to give money to this effort. She wrote in part, "I want to make it absolutely clear that I have nothing to do with this fundraiser. I did not create it. I did not give my permission for it to be created and I have not authorized anyone to collect money on behalf of me or my family."
Patrycja Chmura also warmly thanked all those who generously offered their condolences. She clearly appreciates the compassion and kindness that has been shown to her by many since Mateusz's untimely death.
