Through six weeks, the team has recorded just one win and ranks dead last in yards per game and passing yards per game. They also average the second-fewest points in the league as of this writing.

According to a new report, the team isn't exactly thriving at practice either, and tensions have reportedly been flaring between teammates.

Easton Freeze of AtoZ Sports reported that the Titans have released defensive tackle Jordan Elliott after he allegedly went to retrieve a gun after an altercation at practice with offensive tackle JC Latham.

According to the report, Elliott was asked to leave the field after the heated altercation with his teammate. He instead took his pads off and stormed out of the facility and into the players' parking lot.

Sources said security footage captured Elliott going to his vehicle, where he allegedly intended to retrieve a firearm, before defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers de-escalated the situation.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

Titans Released Embattled Defensive Tackle

For Elliott, who signed a two-year, $8 million deal this offseason, it may be awhile before he latches on with a new team.

Fights between teammates are fairly common at NFL practices. However, reportedly going to retrieve a firearm after a practice altercation is a far more serious situation.

The Titans released the following statement regarding Elliott's release:

"On Thursday, October 15th, there was an incident at our team facility involving Jordan Elliott. Following our review of the incident, we have made the decision to release Elliott from our roster. We will have no further comment on the matter."

Elliott, 28, was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

The former Texas and Mizzou standout spent four seasons with the Browns and two with the 49ers before joining the Titans this offseason.

He has appeared in five games for the Titans this season, including one start.

He recorded 11 tackles this season. Overall, the defensive tackle has amassed 151 tackles and five sacks in 102 career games.

Tennessee did not state whether JC Latham will face punishment for the altercation at practice.
