Kyle Kennedy Dedicated Her Life to Education

Kyle was born on July 6, 1984, in Washington, D.C., to her parents, Michael and Victoria Denise Gifford. Michael died in 1997. Victoria is the daughter of football star Frank Gifford and Maxine Avis Eward, and the stepdaughter of Kathie Lee Gifford.

Kyle dedicated her life to early childhood education. She also worked on educational reform for disadvantaged youth and those with disabilities. After graduating from college, she taught in New York City with the Teach For America program.

Kyle then married Liam Kerr in Boston in August 2012. The couple had three children. They first had twins, Conor and Josie, but their daughter died just days after her birth. Their son Declan was born two years later.

Kerr is referred to as Kyle's "former husband" in her obituary.

Kyle Also Suffered From Paralysis

In 2020, Kyle sustained a severe spinal cord injury, which led to long-term paralysis. She then became a supporter for those living with disabilities and testified at a hearing at the Massachusetts State House on discrimination in health care for people with disabilities.

Kyle is survived by 12-year-old Conor and 10-year-old Declan. She is also survived by her mother, Victoria, her sister, Rory, and nieces and nephews, McKie, Quinn, Jack, and Caleb.

Kyle's death comes nearly a year after the death of Tatiana Schlossberg, the granddaughter of President John F. Kennedy. Schlossberg was diagnosed with a rare mutation of acute myeloid leukemia. She died at the age of 35.

Schlossberg was married to George Moran and also had two young children. She was also the sister of Jack and Rose Schlossberg, and her parents were Caroline Kennedy and Edwin Schlossberg.
