The message comes months after the Little House on the Prairie star's husband, actor Timothy Busfield, was indicted on four counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor (child under 13). The charges stem from allegations that he sexually abused two young actors while working as a director on the set of the drama The Cleaning Lady.

Melissa Gilbert Says There's "A Lot of Sorrow" in the World and Her Life

As PEOPLE reports, the 62-year-old Gilbert posted two pictures of the water and the bright fall colors. She also posted a video of her dogs fetching a ball.

"There's a lot going on in the world (and in my life) right now," Gilbert wrote in the caption. "A lot of uncertainty and turmoil. A lot of sorrow."

"There's also a lot of joy and beauty and peace to be had," she added. The actress shared that when she feels "unsettled, unsafe or unsure," she goes to the water.

"All I have to do is walk across the street and see serenity and hope with my own two eyes. This is the place where my shoulders lower, my jaw unclenches and my mind stops racing. I love where we live," she wrote.

The now-deleted post follows Gilbert's June announcement that she was leaving her Manhattan apartment and moving to upstate New York.

Why Did Gilbert Delete Her Post?

It is not known why Gilbert took down her post. Earlier this year, the actress deleted her personal Instagram account after authorities issued an arrest warrant for the 69-year-old Busfield. The couple married in 2013.

Busfield turned himself in to police in January. Authorities then released him with conditions on Jan. 20. He pleaded not guilty on Feb. 10. His trial is scheduled to begin in May 2027.

Both Gilbert and Busfield deny the allegations. Gilbert also supported Busfield at his pretrial detention hearing and wrote a letter of support to the judge.
