Kennon, 18, was driving his Dodge Durango at 79 MPH in a 50 MPH zone when an officer flashed his lights and instructed him to pull over.
During the Sunday morning pursuit, the SUV reportedly topped 150 MPH, ran a red light and hit a curb, UPI reported.
After a flat tire brought the car to a halt, a responding officer witnessed Kennon ditch his female passenger and flee to a nearby industrial plant.
The unidentified woman had lacerations on her arm. She said she pleaded with Kennon to stop more than 10 times during the high-speed pursuit.
Kennon was arrested on Monday in Hillsborough County, Florida. The former Seminoles player has been charged with second-degree felony aggravated fleeing to elude, third-degree felony false imprisonment and resisting an officer without violence.
He is currently being held in Falkenburg Road Jail.
Florida State Cuts Ties With Top Recruit
The school confirmed Kennon's dismissal to ESPN on Tuesday, citing "conduct detrimental to the team." The Sarasota, Florida, native was no longer listed on Florida State's roster as of Tuesday morning.
For Kennon, his arrest brought an untimely end to a potentially promising collegiate career at FSU.
The freshman cornerback was the school's top recruit this season.
Kennon played cornerback and wide receiver in high school. The 6-foot-2 athlete was listed as the sixth-ranked cornerback in ESPN's 2026 class.
Kennon, the No. 56 overall recruit on the SC Next ESPN 300 in 2026, chose Florida State over Georgia, LSU, Florida, Oregon and Miami.
His brief Florida State career consisted of just one snap on Oct. 3 against Virginia.
Kennon was Florida State's highest-ranked defensive back since four-star Charles Lester III in 2024.
The Seminoles will now have to wage war against rival Miami on Saturday without their top recruit.
Florida State is off to a 3-3 start, the fifth-worst record in the ACC.
Florida State has not won a regular-season road game since beating Florida on Nov. 25, 2023. They are 4-15 in conference games since 2023.
