Kelly Clarkson's $15,000 Mechanical Bird Feud Takes Bizarre Turn as Shop Co-Owner Claims Threats

We have another twist in the viral saga between Kelly Clarkson and independent Brooklyn store 'Art of Play'

We've had another installment of the dispute between Kelly Clarkson and the independent Brooklyn store 'Art of Play.' This all began when Clarkson recently posted on X, claiming she'd been treated unfairly in the store. Since then, an online back-and-forth has unfolded.

Now, 'Art of Play' has escalated that dispute to a new level. Speaking with TMZ, the store's co-owner, Adam Rubin, said he believes Clarkson was upset that the staff "didn't put her on a pedestal."

Adam then continued by revealing that since Clarkson's original post on X, the store has recently received significant negative attention. Most of the attention has been the usual social media heat. However, fans have also demanded an apology from the store. Furthermore, judging by the Google reviews, there has been a string of negative reviews about the establishment.

Of course, Adam doesn't believe any of this is a coincidence.

"He says he never imagined the anger would swell this much. But he says Kelly clearly did -- because she knows the power of her celebrity," TMZ reports. "Kelly's just mad she was treated like a normie, Adam says. Though he's down to make peace if she's willing -- inviting her to a 21+ magic show held at the shop."

The Whole Situation With Kelly Clarkson Started Over a Mechanical Bird

When disputes get out of hand, it's sometimes easy to forget how they started. Yet, where Clarkson and 'Art of Play' are concerned, the reason is simply too silly to ever forget. According to a statement from the store, which was published on Instagram, the whole scenario began when Clarkson attempted to buy a mechanical bird that wasn't for sale.

"Yesterday, Kelly Clarkson visited us in Brooklyn and inquired about buying "Molly," a one-of-a-kind singing and dancing bird automaton who plays an important role in the magic shows we host here. Molly is permanently attached to the wall and isn't for sale," the statement said.

Judging by the buzz that Clarkson's post created, this whole scenario doesn't show any signs of ending. Hopefully, Adam believes in the old adage that no publicity is bad publicity, even when it's due to an online beef with a pop superstar.
