Bills Star Says Rival Swung at Him After Overtime Thriller: "They Always Catch The Second Guy"

Emotions were running high during the Los Angeles Rams and Buffalo Bills' primetime thriller on Monday Night. That was evident when the two teams came together at midfield at the end of overtime. And the Bills' veteran Bradley Chubb had to be restrained from going after one of the players on the Rams.

Tempers Flare Following Bills, Rams Thriller

Chubb told the Post that the cause of the melee was that one of the Rams swung on him after the Bills' OT victory. But he chose not to react because he feared repercussions.

"It was a close game," Chubb told The California Post (via ESPN). "And, you know, they always catch the second guy, so I let him swing, and my teammates held me back, and I just chilled"

He also declined to name the aggressor:

"Somebody swung, but hey, that's not on me to tell who," Chubb said. "There's cameras out there. I just know, you know what I'm saying, I'm just ready for next week."

Chubb was spot on. ESPN's cameras caught the entire incident on camera. And the culprit was identified as Rams defensive tackle Alaric Jackson. Jackson was exchanging jerseys with another member of the Bills when Chubb appeared to yell something in the direction of the two players. Jackson seemed to take exception to whatever was said. He made a beeline for Chubb, who was standing at midfield. Jackson said something to Chubb before he took a swing at him. He was quickly restrained by his Bills teammates before he could retaliate.

"As I said, it was an emotional game. Tempers got flared," Chubb concluded. "But it is what it is. We flushed it, and we're on to next week."

In the end, it was Chubb and the Bills who came out victorious. With a big road victory in primetime that improves their record to 4-1. One of the hottest starts among teams this year.

No word on whether a punishment will be handed down to Jackson over the incident.
