Selma Blair has been arrested after she allegedly attacked two flight attendants. As reported by Variety, the "Legally Blonde" actress allegedly attacked the attendants on a Delta flight from Los Angeles to New York.
The actress is alleged to have attempted to open the plane door whilst it was in the air. After flight attendants tried to stop her, she allegedly punched one attendant, and bit another.
She was arrested by New York police once the plane had landed. The actress was taken into custody and subsequently taken to a hospital for a medical evaluation.
A representative for Blair has spoken out about the alleged incident. She wrote to Variety, "Selma experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct. Upon landing, she received immediate medical attention and is currently in stable condition.
The New York Post later reported that the cause of the alleged incident was due to her missing her medication. Her attorney, Shawn Barnes. said "This was not an intentional assault."
"Ms. Blair missed several doses of... a powerful medication that controls severe neurological symptoms," he continued. "Ms. Blair boarded this flight after being on set and working extensive hours and exhaustive hours in the days leading up to this flight.
"Additionally, at one point, during the flight, there was an incident where Ms. Blair actually fell and hit her head. These factors, coupled with the altitude, resulted in a state of severe confusion and disorientation."
