With Halloween looming, the chain restaurant is lending an ear to customers' horror stories. Subway launched the "Lunchtime Horrors" campaign on Oct. 12, which allows eligible customers to share stories of undesirable meals they've had in exchange for a $15 Subway gift card.

Subway's Lunchtime Horrors promotion runs for five days and ends on Oct. 16.

The promotion is a continuation of the recent Feed Your SUBconscious marketing campaign in which actor and comedian Will Arnett serves as the "inner voice" influencing consumers to eat at Subway.

Subway Announces Lunchtime Horrors Campaign

Jeff Klein, Subway's chief marketing officer, said in a statement, "We make sandwiches, not time machines. But we can give people something to look forward to at their next lunch. Feed Your SUBconscious is an invitation to listen to that inner voice that knows what you really want. This Halloween, we're giving Americans a chance to act on it, with thousands of freshly prepared Footlongs on us."

To enter, customers ages 18 and older can visit LunchtimeHorrors.com and share a "lunch horror" during the promotion period. No purchase is necessary to participate. Subway will make 1,000 $15 digital gift cards available to be won during each of five entry periods, for a total of 5,000 prizes.

It is open to legal American residents who are at least 18 years old.

The Halloween giveaway follows a Subway-commissioned survey that found that a large portion of Americans have experienced lunch regret. Whether it was a pizza with the wrong toppings or a burger served too cold, the survey revealed that 66 percent of U.S. adults said they at least sometimes regret what they choose for lunch.

According to the survey, 35 percent said they ate something unhealthy, 34 percent said their meal didn't fill them up and 28 percent said their lunch wasn't worth the price.

To enter the giveaway, visit LunchtimeHorrors.com between Oct. 12 and Oct. 16 and follow the instructions to submit your lunchtime confession.

Full eligibility requirements and promotion rules are available on the giveaway website.
