Barry Manilow has been working his way back to the stage since his lung surgery months ago. After his farewell tour over the summer, the "Mandy" singer was set to return to the Westgate in Las Vegas this weekend following a six-week hiatus, but illness cut things short.

Barry Manilow Stopped the Show After Two Songs

Manilow's Las Vegas residency has been postponed several times over the last year. His May performances were pushed back while he recovered from surgery, and he returned to the Westgate in July. He later took another break from performing in late August before returning on Oct. 8.

The delays stem from the singer's recovery after a surgical procedure to remove a "cancerous" spot from his lung.

As Rolling Stone reports, Manilow took the stage at Westgate on Thursday, Oct. 8, with no problems. The next day, he had to cut the show short after two songs and canceled the following day's show.

"After a triumphant welcome-back concert on Thursday, Barry got hit with bronchitis and had to cancel his Friday and Saturday shows," said his reps.

Manilow is scheduled to perform again on Oct. 15-17 at Westgate. His residency is expected to run through April 2027.

It's Been a Long Road to Recovery for Manilow

Manilow was diagnosed with stage 1 lung cancer in Dec. 2025 after a series of tests following a previous bout of bronchitis.

"They checked my lungs, and they found the dot, the spot, that thing you don't want to, you don't want to ever have," he said earlier this year. "It was just too heavy for me."

The surgery was a success, but recovery has taken a little longer than he expected. In addition to his Vegas residency being delayed, Manilow's nationwide farewell tour earlier this summer had several postponements and cancellations. Yet fans have been forgiving as he continues to recover.

"The thing that shocked me was all the people around the world being concerned about me," he shared back in August. "It was note after note after note about 'We're praying for you.'"
