It's spooky season, and actress Amanda Seyfried recently experienced quite the fright. But the scares weren't on the silver screen. They came from inside her house.

Amanda Seyfried Got a Little Freaked Out
The Jennifer's Body actress shared a video on her Instagram account earlier this week singing Joni Mitchell's "A Case of You" while playing the dulcimer.
But as she launches into the song, a mysterious figure dressed in black appears behind her. Wearing a "Ghostface" mask from the horror movie Scream, it slowly approaches Seyfried.
On closer inspection, the figure has blonde hair, meaning it's Seyfried's 9-year-old daughter, Nina. And just as the actress looks at her phone, she lets out a blood-curdling scream.
Nina then playfully puts her hands together, obviously satisfied in the knowledge that she has frightened the wits out of her mother.
The caption-less video also drew quite the reaction from fans.
"This video is going to live rent free in my head forever," one user wrote. "Lol what a cool kid you have Amanda!"
Another referenced Seyfried's character in Mean Girls, saying, "She can predict the weather but can't tell when someone is sneaking up on her."
Even the official Scream Instagram account commented, writing, "Sorry my bad."
The Actress Is Quite Skilled on the Dulcimer
Of course, audiences know Seyfried can sing, having starred in the musicals Mamma Mia! and Les Misérables.
But last year, she showed fans she has quite a bit of range. The actress performed another Joni Mitchell song, "California," on the dulcimer during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Before her performance, Seyfried and Fallon talked about their history of learning musical instruments. Like many kids, she learned how to play the piano at a young age.
She then told Fallon she learned to play the dulcimer during the pandemic. She added that Mitchell also wrote many of the songs from her iconic album Blue on the Appalachian string instrument.
She said, "I learned a lot of her stuff from the Blue album when the world stopped."
