Police received a report of the incident at approximately 9 p.m. local time after a motorist in a white Jeep allegedly pointed a firearm at a Disney bus on East Buena Vista Drive near Bonnet Creek Parkway.
Authorities later learned that the Jeep had traveled to Disney's Port Orleans Resort, prompting officers to investigate.
Disney Gun Incident Leads to Driver's Arrest
When deputies arrived at the resort, they located the white Jeep near the lobby, although nobody appeared to be inside.
David Charlot, 25, subsequently approached officers and claimed he was "just delivering food with Doordash with the Jeep."
"Chalot told me in an initial verbal statement that he did indeed have a handgun in his car, but never pointed it at anyone or interacted with anyone," the affidavit states. "He was just delivering food."
However, witnesses described a confrontation at a set of traffic lights that allegedly ended with Charlot pointing a gun at the Disney bus driver.
According to their accounts, the Jeep remained stationary despite the traffic light turning green, with the Disney bus waiting directly behind it.
When the Jeep failed to move, the bus driver reportedly sounded the horn and edged closer to the vehicle.
Bus Camera Footage Captures Alleged Gun Threat
Witnesses claimed that the interaction quickly escalated into a confrontation between Charlot and the Disney bus driver.
"The driver of the Jeep, a black male, got out and approached the bus," the affidavit adds.
"He then went back to the Jeep, reached into the center console of the Jeep, pulled out a black semi-automatic pistol, and pointed it directly at the Disney bus driver."
Investigators subsequently reviewed footage from the bus's onboard camera, which reportedly corroborated the witnesses' accounts.
The footage allegedly showed Charlot pointing a black handgun directly at the bus driver before leaving the area.
Police arrested Charlot on suspicion of aggravated assault with a firearm following the incident.
Authorities are currently holding the 25-year-old on a $25,000 bond as the case moves through the legal system.
Further details surrounding the confrontation and any potential punishment will become clearer as court proceedings progress.
