TV Legend Hospitalized After Disappearing Mid-Show

The TV legend appeared to clutch her heart before being rushed off set by her co-host. She later posted a video from her hospital bed.

TV legend Alison Hammond was recently hospitalized after disappearing mid-show. As reported by the BBC, she was taken to the hospital for a heart check-up.

The presenter, who also presents for the Great British Bake Off, was live on air on an episode of This Morning. Then, she appeared to clutch her chest, before rushing off camera. She was helped off set by the co-host of the show, Dermot O'Leary.

She went on to post a video from her hospital bed to scores of concerned fans online. "I know you're all worried about me," the presenter said. "Honestly, I am fine—first of all, I'm getting my old ticker checked out."

She went on to explain exactly what happened on set. "I had a little bit of a palpitation, and now I'm getting it all checked out. But I think I'm OK, I'm hoping it was just a little panic attack or something like that."

"I'm so sorry I left you," she added. "I would never normally do that. I would never leave a TV show, so you know I wasn't very well."

The TV Legend Issued an Update After Coming Home

Per the BBC, she was later released from the hospital. The TV legend posted an update to fans revealing that she had experienced a panic attack, which caused the heart palpitations.

She revealed she was "all OK, all clear, which would mean I had a massive panic attack on live TV." She joked, "I mean, the shame of it! It felt very real to me."

She admitted that she needed to "learn more about" panic attacks because she was "very new" to them.

She also thanked the health professionals as well as her colleagues at This Morning. "It's really warmed my heart actually. I didn't necessarily want to be on the news or anything like that but this is a new world to me. I'm going to take stock, take some rest and I'll see you soon."

We're really glad that she's feeling better, and hope that she is better able to manage her panic attacks in the very near future!
