What Song Did Chris O'Dowd Sing?
The clip of the 46-year-old Bridesmaids actor's performance was uploaded to Instagram last week by the Irish London Centre. Surrounded by his friends and wife, he sings every word to the traditional Irish song "The Rattlin' Bog."
The crowd joined in, turning the moment into a lively singalong. There was even a moment when O'Dowd's wife stood up, put her hands in the air, and began to dance.
The caption on the video read, "'I never see you at the club.' 'I never see you at the London Irish Centre, screaming the 'Rattlin Bog' with Primetime Emmy Award winner Chris O'Dowd?'"
Fans couldn't believe what they were watching. One fan called the Emmy winner "a legend.
Another asked, "How does it feel to be living our dream?"
"You can take the man out of Ireland...," a user joked.
In case his accent didn't give it away, O'Dowd was born in Boyle, a town in County Roscommon, Ireland. He went to University College Dublin before attending the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in London.
Where Have I Seen O'Dowd Before?
Most movie fans will recognize O'Dowd from his role as Kristen Wiig's love interest in the hit film Bridesmaids. Before playing Officer Nathan Rhodes, he was a star of the cult British sitcom The IT Crowd.
O'Dowd also appeared in other projects produced or directed by Judd Apatow. He had a small role in This Is 40 and a recurring role in the HBO comedy series Girls. He also starred in the films St. Vincent with his Bridesmaids co-star Melissa McCarthy and Molly's Game.
As reported by Page Six, O'Dowd left Los Angeles in 2024. He and his family now live in London and Margate, a seaside town in Kent.
