María Morales Tirado, known to her legion of internet fans as "Mami," passed away on her 107th birthday.
"Today I write the words that no child would want to have to write," the internet celebrity's son, Tony Morales, wrote in a Sept. 28
Facebook post. "Mami passed away on the same day she turned 107 years old. The date we celebrate throughout our lives as the beginning of her existence was also the day of her farewell."The beloved internet star's
Facebook page, "Mami is my Attitude 4 a Lifestyle," enjoyed over 200,000 devoted followers. Her son shared frequent updates of Mami's seemingly pastoral life in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico."Although she is 107 years old, although we have gray hair, children, and grandchildren, we are still those children who find security simply in knowing that Mami is still there," Morales added in his post about his mother's passing. "We always want one more day, one more conversation, one more smile, and one hug that will never have to be the last."

"She showed us that strength can also be opening one's eyes for one more day, recognizing a voice, shaking a hand, or giving us a small smile," Morales added.
"She remains in our words, in our customs, in the recipes we learned by observing her, in the stories we will continue to tell, and in the way we care for our children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren," Morales continued.
"Few families receive such a gift. Although tears may be inevitable today, behind each one there is a story, a memory, and a deep gratitude."
Of course, Morales' tribute to his late mother was filled with words of support from her fans.
"The mother of one always lives in our hearts as an eternal light. My condolences to the entire family. May she rest in peace," one top comment read. "107 is more than a gift from life," another fan wrote.
"So sorry for your loss. What a blessing to have had her for as long as you did," a third fan added.
Meanwhile, María Morales Tirado's legacy certainly lives on. Her son pointed out that she leaves behind 14 children and 48 grandchildren. She's also survived by 71 great-grandchildren and 28 great-great-grandchildren.
