Dennis Haskins, who played Principal Belding, has died at the age of 75. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, he had played the role for more than a decade.
His agent, Jay Schachter, confirmed his tragic passing in a statement shared with the outlet. "It's a tragic loss," he wrote. "Everyone loved Mr. Belding, and those of us who got to know Dennis loved him even more."
"He was a great person, and he loved, I mean absolutely LOVED his fans," he explained. "He always had time for them, no matter what... he was my client and dear friend for over 20 years, and I will miss him terribly."
His cause of death was not revealed by the agent, and remains unknown.
Haskins got his start on a 1979 episode of The Dukes of Hazzard. From there, he appeared on numerous TV shows and movies throughout his career.
Although his most notable appearance was playing the memorable Principal Belding, he also starred in 2014's A Million Ways to Die in the West, Mad Men, Hot in Cleveland, New Girl, I'm Dying Up Here, Robot Chicken, and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Tributes Poured in for the 'Saved by the Bell' Star
Tributes have poured in for the Saved by the Bell star.
One commenter wrote, "I loved watching that show with my kids..... back when good tv after school was something worth watching," with another writing, "Part of my childhood bro... I would watch save by the bell each morning before school and always thought he was the coolest principle ever"
Other commenters quipped about Saved by the Bell, writing, "It was all the stress Zack caused!", with another commenting his signature catchphrase, "Hey, hey, hey, what's going on here?"
Tributes also poured in from his co-stars. Lark Voorhies, who played Lisa Turtle on the show, wrote, "Knowing Dennis Haskins for almost 40 years has been one of the truest blessings of my life, which makes losing him hurt so deeply."
"We shared so much history together from our earliest days, and through it all, he remained a fabulous person, a loyal friend, and someone with such a kind, gentle heart.
"I am truly heartbroken by his passing and will miss his warmth and laughter more than words can say. Rest in peace Dennis, you will always hold a special place in my heart."
