Have you heard Luke Bryan's newest album yet? Well, one of the songs have been getting roasted online just a teensy bit, per Whiskey Riff.
His song "Down Goes The Whiskey" is, predictably, a drinking song - classic country. But people have been comparing it to "Pop Goes The Weasel"... you know, the nursery rhyme. Why, you ask? Well, take a look at a portion of the lyrics:
Slam goes the door / Flyin' goes the dust / Break goes the heart / To the bar goes the truck / Buzz goes the neon / Jukebox goes Whitley / There goes that love up in smoke / And down goes the whiskey
(If you're singing this one to your kids, respect to you, by the way - but I think this isn't the most educational nursery rhyme!)
It does sound pretty reminiscent of a nursery rhyme, no? Well, people definitely took notice - especially on a post of the song on social media. People even thought they'd take a crack at listing off some new lyrics for the Luke Bryan track.
And the one that the Internet crowned as the best was... "Fart goes the butt". No, seriously - 340,000 people liked that comment. And I don't blame them one bit. How hilarious is that?

Luke Bryan Didn't Find it Funny
But, unfortunately, things like that might not be the best for your brand. And that's exactly the argument that Luke Bryan made. And yes, this does mean that celebs read the comments on their social media posts...
"I don't like it," he confessed in an interview on The Rob + Holly Show. "We're trying to tease an album to get interest, and you only tease albums with snippets of songs."
"We've got four or five songs that we've teased, and then people love 'em on the 30 seconds or 20 seconds that they get to hear and you've got positives, and then people... it's just like, people are all over the map with this stuff."
Luke Bryan went on to criticize those who criticized the song - after all, the writers are real people with real emotions. "I've been doing music at a high level for 30 years now. When I pick a song for my album, it's what I want."
"There are writers out there that wrote 'Down Goes The Whiskey', and it's a great song, and for people to make kind of silly comments about a snippet of a song, it is what it is."
