On Saturday, Sept. 26, University of Oregon fans witnessed quarterback Dante Moore being taken off the field. The Ducks' star took a brutal hit during the game, with the majority of the blow being taken on the head.

Moore had been involved in a scrambled play during the second quarter, which is when the hit took place.
"USC linebacker Desman Stephen II hit him, sending his head slamming into the ground," PEOPLE reports. "Referees threw a flag, and Moore could be seen lying on the ground as Oregon staff rushed onto the field."
Following the hit, Moore was placed on a stretcher. All of his teammates stood by his side as he was carried off the field. USC quarterback Jayden Maiava could also be seen coming over to check on Moore. He was then loaded into a waiting ambulance and taken to a nearby hospital for medical assistance.
"The star quarterback started his season this year as a potential starting quarterback in the 2027 NFL Draft and has led Oregon to a 2-1 record thus far," PEOPLE notes. "He had thrown for 849 yards and nine touchdowns leading into Saturday's game."
There Has Since Been an Update to the Injury Status of Dante Moore
Following further medical examination, Ducks' head coach Dan Lanning provided a statement regarding Moore's status.
"Dante sustained a concussion in last night's game but fortunately his MRI and CT scans came back clean and he did not suffer any additional injuries. Every concussion is different and we are going to move forward with an abundance of caution to ensure we make the best decisions for Dante and his future," Lanning said, via Sports Illustrated.
Lanning then continued by praising the work Oregon's medical staff provided Moore following the hit.
"We are extremely appreciative of our entire medical staff and the medical staffs at USC and LA General County Hospital for their quick and thorough action in making sure Dante received the very best care possible," Lanning continued.
Moore will now enter a concussion protocol, which could keep him out until mid-October, when Oregon faces the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
