The US Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced the recall of almost 50,000 mattresses. They state there is a "serious risk of injury or death" stemming from fire hazard risks associated with the products.

What Mattresses are Affected?
The specific mattresses that are affected were sold by "S-Q Business (HK) Limited, dba ZCK01, of China". The mattresses are Kesyup-branded and are sold in twin, full, queen, and king sizes.
The affected mattresses were sold on Amazon between December 2024 and April 2026. They were sold for between $100 and $200.
The CPSC released a description of the mattresses. They described them as 12 inches thick, featuring a white top and blue sides alongside a blue trim. They are identifiable via their sewn-in white label on one side of the mattress, reading "Prototype ID: <PU-US>".
My Product Is Affected; What Do I Do?
Firstly, it is important that you stop using the product as soon as you can. It is a fire risk, and you should not risk your life.
The CSPC has explained that ZCK01 is offering a full refund to customers. In order to get this refund, customers need to destroy the mattress by writing "RECALLED" in permanent marker on the main body of the mattress, alongside their full name and the current date.
A picture of this process should be emailed to [email protected]. The CPSC emphasized that "Consumers should then dispose of the recalled product in accordance with local and/or state disposal procedures".
How Important Is a Fire-Resistant Mattress?
Of course, this is a pretty troubling recall—the idea of not having a safe mattress is worrying. So, the CPSC has released information about just how important fire-resistant mattresses are.
"Effective July 2007, mattress sets are required to meet the federal safety standard for open-flame fire resistance," they wrote. "Protection from cigarette ignition has been in place for more than 30 years."
"The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) rules buy you and your family more time to escape before the fire gets out of control. Many mattress fires are caused by children playing with open flames such as candles, lighters and matches or when candles are left unattended."
