Legendary rock outfit the Beach Boys have quietly decided to cancel more upcoming shows just as they were set to head back on tour.

The surf rock trailblazers pulled the plug on a performance planned for tonight (Sept. 24) at The Big E Arena in West Springfield, Massachusetts, according to PEOPLE. The Beach Boys' show at Univest Performance Center in Quakertown, Pennsylvania, has also been abruptly canceled. Meanwhile, the band canceled a third show at The Alabama Theatre in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, which was set for Sept. 27.
The news of the suddenly canceled shows comes after founding member Mike Love announced he was taking a bit of time off from touring back in July.
"Playing for you is the highlight of our summer every year — especially as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States while saluting the 60th Anniversary of Pet Sounds," the 85-year-old singer wrote on Instagram then.
"We've been having a blast out there, and to keep the good vibrations going strong, we'll be taking a short break to recharge before getting back on the road in September," Love added.
The Beach Boys Have Several Shows Set for October
Back in March, the Beach Boys also lost a valuable member of their lineup. Bruce Johnston, who joined the group in 1965 after Brian Wilson stepped away from the band, decided to hang it up at age 84. The veteran musician told fans he planned to pivot to songwriting. He also said he planned to do speaking engagements (and the occasional special appearance with the Beach Boys).
"It's time for Part Three of my lengthy musical career! I can write songs forever and wait until you hear what's coming!!!" he explained in a statement then.
Meanwhile, the iconic "Good Vibrations" band has several shows set for next month, according to their website. The Beach Boys' next scheduled show is at the Grossinger Motors Arena in Bloomington, Illinois, on Oct. 9. They'll then play the PNC Pavilion in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Oct. 10 before hitting the stage at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee, on Oct. 11.
