Popular pizza chain Domino's is under fire after its latest move left several workers unemployed.

According to a Tuesday (September 22) report from the New York Post, the Pizza giant abruptly shut down 13 of its restaurants in September 2026.
13 Domino's Restaurants Abruptly Close
All of the restaurants that were nixed were in the same state -- Ohio. Domino's franchisee Anthony Satterwhite and his company Mile High Pizza had been "struggling financially," according to the outlet.
The 13 shut down locations were located in Mansfield, Canal Fulton, Galion, Crestline, Ashland, Akron, Barberton, Wadsworth, and Mount Gilead, according to Fast Company.
What is even more bizarre is that the employees were all informed of their termination via a text message. Satterwhite sent a message to all of his employees during the 6 pm dinner rush on September 4. Informing them of the store closings. He said that he hoped that they would continue to work their shifts through the weekend.
"We were in the middle of our dinner rush," said Joe Mills, the former manager at the Domino's store in Galion.
"I was like, 'We all just got fired. I was like, 'We're all done.' And that was it. Like, everyone just walked out."
The company insists that the closing of Satterwhite's stores is not reflective of the company's overall performance.
"This is an isolated franchisee matter and is not reflective of the overall strength or performance of the Domino's brand," a spokesperson for Domino's said in a statement to the outlet.
The spokesperson also noted that the company is "actively working" to transfer the affected stores to new ownership.
"We are actively working to transition these stores to new ownership so that customers in the affected communities can enjoy the quality products and service they expect from Domino's," the statement concludes.
However, there is no plan going forward for the affected employees.
