We all have those fleeting thoughts sometimes - "what if I won the lottery?"; "what if I just quit work today?".
Well, when you're a country singer like Luke Bryan, those aren't just fleeting thoughts. They're something that you've got to be thinking about semi-often - because being a hitmaker is no easy work.
And, when he was asked by Taste of Country, he had a pretty hilarious answer. First, let me contextualize things with his 2026 song with George Birge, "Ride Ride Ride".
The song talks about riding a horse being akin to weathering the storm in life:

Sage stuff, right? Well, it turns out that horses might have an unintended affect when it comes to his career. When they asked him, "What would make you retire?" he had a great response.
"I mean, I may... get kicked by a horse in the throat and be done. Who knows?" What a way to think about things!

But, of course, the interview talked about more than just horse-fu and retirement. He also explained in the interview that he wasn't sure how much steam he had left in the whole music business.
"You know, I don't know. I'm kind of one of those artists, like - long as I'm having fun, and I feel creative and I got people, you know." Me personally, I'm hoping all three of those stay true for a long, long time.
He added, "I mean, this weekend was three sold-out shows and people singing 'Country And She Knows It'. The song's top 10. The crowds [were] really, really singing it."
He also said that "God called" him to be an entertainer - "I love being on stage," he mused.
