We all have that one defining aspect to our personal aesthetic. Some of us have beards; others have defined jawlines. Some aspects we choose; others we're born with and learn how to make them work. In the case of famed singer Benny Blanco, it's his signature curls that make him instantly recognizable.

Yet, when speaking with Jimmy Fallon during a recent appearance on The Tonight Show, Blanco admitted that he's previously considered shaving off those iconic curls. Fortunately, Blanco had second thoughts, and he was happy to share the reason why.
"I was thinking about actually doing it," Blanco told Fallon. "But then I was like, what if I have like a crazy head? Like I have a huge cone in the back, I don't know!"
Fallon, in typical comedic fashion, agreed with Blanco. He noted that you "don't know" how you'll look when making such a drastic change.
"You don't know," Fallon said. "You don't want to mess with that. No, no. This is the look for you."
Of course, Blanco's fans are used to him discussing shaving his head. When recently promoting his new book "F--k Failure," Blanco pranked his fanbase by pretending to shave half of his head. Unfortunately, there were some who believed he'd actually gone ahead with the wild decision, including his mother.
"My mother believed it. My mother called me and she was like, 'What'?!" Blanco recalled. "She made me FaceTime her because she didn't believe me."

Blanco and his wife, Selena Gomez, are closing in on their first wedding anniversary. The couple appears to be deeply in love with each other. During a recent conversation with PEOPLE, Gomez admitted that both she and Gomez are still in the 'honeymoon phase.'
"I love it," she said. "It just feels so wonderful to have a partner that actually genuinely listens and just meets you right where you are, whatever that mood or day looks like, and that's all I could ask for. I just need him, and I love him, so it's pretty great."
Clearly, those curls are working well for Blanco. He's highly successful, happily married, and now a published author. There should be no reason for such a drastic change, especially if Gomez hasn't been consulted first.
