Brian Wolfe has sadly passed away at the age of 45. The former Toronto Blue Jays pitcher spent three seasons in the MLB before heading overseas for a nine-year career in Japan. Wolfe's wife, Rachel, confirmed his death via a post on social media.

"I'm sorry to write this but after a really really difficult and torturous battle Brian Wolfe passed away early this morning,"
Rachell wrote on Facebook.Currently, Wolfe's cause of death has not been made public. Whether that information eventually makes it into the public domain will remain to be seen. However, right now, Rachel and the rest of Wolfe's family will undoubtedly ask for privacy as they navigate a difficult and painful situation.
Wolfe entered the MLB in 1999 as a sixth-round draft pick coming straight out of high school. He was originally selected by the Minnesota Twins, leading him to spend six years within their minor league system. He eventually worked his way up to Triple-A.
In May 2005, Wolfe was released by Minnesota before being picked up by the Milwaukee Brewers for the remainder of the season. However, it was in January 2006 that Wolfe got his big break. The pitcher was traded to Toronto, where he quickly worked his way up through their system and onto their Major League squad.
"Wolfe made 72 major league appearances across three seasons. He went 5-5 with a 3.81 ERA," The New York Post reports. "After the 2009 season, Wolfe became a free agent and began another chapter of baseball career with the Nippon Ham Fighters of Nippon Professional Baseball. He started 77 games for the Fighters from 2010-13."
