According to a Wednesday (September 16) report from the New York Post, body-cam footage showed local authorities stopping the former Clemson University standout for speeding.

Deshaun Watson Busted For Speeding

Per the report, the Heisman winner was pulled over for allegedly driving 30 miles over the speed limit on August 26. Watson was reportedly clocked for going 86 miles per hour in a 60-mile-per-hour zone.

Watson seemed relatively calm during his exchange with the officer in the body camera footage obtained by The California Post.

The officer informs Watson of why he is being pulled over before taking his license and registration information. The trooper also informs the star quarterback that he will be getting slapped with a citation for speeding. He then instructs him on what his options will be once the citation is issued.

The three-time pro-bowler appeared in court last Wednesday (September 9) to fight the ticket. He pleaded not guilty to the speeding violation and is set to appear back in court on September 23.

Of course, Browns fans on social media had plenty to say about Watson's most recent arrest.

"In his defense, it is an annoying stretch of that highway. It dips from 75 to 60 for a long stretch unless you are looking for the sign explicitly; it is easy to miss," one person wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"86 in a 60 isn't that bad in retrospect. Like state roads are 55 out in the country," a second user added.

"I swear, some of these football players get in their own fckn way," a third person chimed in.

Watson and the Browns came out of the gate slow to start the 2026 season. A 34-10 loss to the Jaguars has put them behind the eight ball in their hunt to return to the postseason. They'll have an opportunity to get back on track in Week 2 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
