Several Acts Drop Out of Ed Sheeran’s Tour in Support of Macklemore

Ed Sheeran appears to have a major problem on his hands. After the decision was made to drop Macklemore from his "The Loop" North American tour.

To bring things up to speed, Macklemore made comments in support of Palestine. When the tour hit New Jersey's MetLife Stadium earlier this month. In the aftermath of his comments, several people were outraged and accused him of being biased toward the Palestinian people amid their war with Gaza. On Monday (September 14), Macklemore was dropped from the remaining tour dates. But that was far from the end of the saga.

Several Opening Acts Drop Out of Sheeran Tour 

In the aftermath, several of the remaining acts on the tour announced that they no longer would be part of the set. They voiced their support for Macklemore. 

Among the artists to drop out of the tour was Finneas. He is also the brother of pop star Billie Eilish. In a statement obtained by Variety, Finneas spoke out against anyone who tries to silence artists and the messages that they want to convey to audiences. 

"Artists must not be silenced when they speak up for the oppressed. I have decided to withdraw from my upcoming tour dates with Ed Sheeran. I stand with Palestine and its people," he said in a statement obtained 

Additionally, Aaron Rowe and his band Beoga have announced their departure from the tour. In a statement on Tuesday, Rowe and Beoga drew back to their Irish roots. And their familiarity with how genocide can negatively impact a country. So standing in solidarity with Palestine and now Macklemore was a no-brainer. 

"I cannot stand by and allow billionaires to use their position of power to silence the rightful voices of those who speak up against Israeli genocide and who highlight the savage murder of children," Rowe wrote on social media (

Sheeran's next tour date is this Saturday (September 19), when the show hits Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
