Popular singer D4vd has been hit with a wrongful death lawsuit. As reported by NBC News, the suit was filed by the parents of Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
In case you missed it, the platinum certified singer was previously charged with the 14-year-old girl's murder. He is alleged to have murdered Hernandez and dismembered her body. The body was later found in the trunk of an abandoned Tesla that allegedly belonged to him.
As we reported, he pleaded not guilty to his charges. As well as murder, he also faces two more charges: continuous sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14; and unlawful mutilation of human remains.
At the time, the lawyers representing D4vd released a statement about his arrest. However, they later ended up reneging on representing him, citing financial concerns.
"The actual evidence in this case will show that David Burke [d4vd's real name) did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez," Blair Berk, Marilyn Bednarski and Regina Peter wrote. "We will vigorously defend David's innocence."

Hernandez' Parents Have Filed the Lawsuit Against the Singer
The wrongful death lawsuit was filed as of September 10. But the platinum singer isn't the only person in the firing line.
Mercedes Martinez and Jesus Rivas have also chose to sue D4vd's mother as well as his managers. They claim that the three were negligent in how they acted.
The lawsuit accuses D4vd of influencing and controlling Hernandez due to his status as a singer. The examples the lawsuit alleges included "providing her a concealed cellular telephone to maintain contact outside her parents' knowledge, using false identities, and arranging and paying for their travel."
That latter one is particularly important for the lawsuit. The suit goes on to allege that the singer had sent an Uber to pick Hernandez up from her family home on the night she died.
It continued by alleging he stabbed her once she had entered his Hollywood Hills home, before using a chainsaw to dismember her.
This is a truly chilling case - both the criminal charges, and the lawsuit. We hope that the course of justice is fair and the right verdict is reached.
