Few people probably saw this coming. But two reality stars have shockingly exited a popular show after 16 years. Sister Wives just lost Kody Brown and his wife, Robyn Brown. Kody has long been a familiar if controversial presence on the show.

But with Season 21 dropping its first trailer, neither of the reality stars are anywhere to be seen. And no they're not simply hiding the goods. TLC confirmed that both Kody and Robyn have ended their time on the program.
"After 16 years of filming Sister Wives, Kody & Robyn will not be returning to the show," TLC said.
It doesn't sound like it was very amicable. Neither of the reality stars has commented on their exit. But their co-stars had plenty to say during the trailer.
"I don't know what it means. I have no idea," Kody's ex-wife, Christine Brown Woolley, commented.
Others were also shocked.

"I was flabbergasted, really, when I got the news," Janelle Brown said.
"I was actually surprised when I was told that Kody and Robyn weren't coming back to the show," Meri Brown also said as well.
The Sister Wives focused on the poly relationship between Kody and his several wives. But in recent years, his wives have dwindled in numbers with just Robyn remaining tied to the knot. In 2021, Christine ended her marriage to Kody after 25 years. Then Janelle later split with him as well.
Finally, Meri left Kody as well. Since then, the show has continued to explore the fallout as the former wives found news love.
At the end of last season, Kody became apologetic to those he wronged including his ex-wives and his estranged children. However, he butted heads with Christine's new husband, David Woolley, over adivce.
advised Kody to start his apologies with his 18 adult children, many of whom he's estranged from.
"Any of his experience with his children and any of his advice for me is just something that I'm not interested in at this point because he's kind of just on the opposite side of this," Kody said at the time.
The reason behind the reality stars leaving is unknown.
