A Florida father is in hot water after a DUI-related incident with police. One that ended with him allegedly dropping his infant and his toddler in nearby gator-infested waters.

Footage showed 27-year-old Isaac Kinsey dropping his two kids into a nearby swamp during a foot chase with Florida police after trying to evade police for a car wreck. Kinsey had appeared to be the driver who crashed his vehicle through a road closure sign and into a construction area. He reportedly fled the scene of the crash with his two children - one 2-year-old and one 10-month-old (via the New York Post).

The Lakeland Police Department posted video footage of the incident on their social media page. In the footage, officers discovered the two car seats in the back of the car while responding to the crash. Upon the discovery, the officers immediately ramped up their efforts to find the driver and the two children who were in the car.
Drone footage showed Kinsey running through a wood-filled swamp area while carrying his two children. Naturally, he struggled to move against the resistance of the environment. After falling in the area, known as a hotbed for alligators, he dropped his two kids into the swamp.
Cops were able to move through the swampy area. And rescue the crying infant and toddler before taking their father into custody.
Following his arrest, Kinsey allegedly admitted to driving under the influence with his two children in the car. He also told officers that his driver's license is suspended.
In the aftermath, Lakeland PD blasted Kinsey for his role in the incident. They praised the officers who helped bring the two children to safety.
"This incident could have ended with the loss of two innocent lives. The rapid deployment of LakelandPD's drone technology, along with the persistence and teamwork of responding officers, helped locate the children in an extremely difficult environment. And get them the care they needed," the department wrote in a statement (via The New York Post).
"There is no excuse for impaired driving. We are thankful these children survived and proud of the officers whose actions helped prevent an even greater tragedy."
The Florida father has been charged with eight misdemeanor offenses and three felony offenses, including two counts of negligent child abuse with great bodily harm, according to authorities (via NYP)
