Fernando Vargas Jr., the son of legendary boxer Fernando Vargas, has been arrested. As reported by the New York Post, he was arrested for an alleged connection to a car crash inside Universal Studios Hollywood.
The alleged incident occurred inside of Universal Studios Hollywood's parking structure. A statement from the California Highway Patrol explained that when they went to investigate the crash, they "contacted Vargas Jr. and noted signs of alcohol impairment."
Following this, cops say they conducted a DUI investigation before arresting him. He remains in custody, and the CHP explained that they "will present the case to the Los Angeles City Attorney's office for review".
Vargas Jr. is the son of the two-time light middleweight world boxing champion Fernando Vargas. Vargas Jr. himself is an accomplished boxer, holding a 17-1 record.
Most of his wins have been by knockout, per the outlet. However, his arguably highest-ticket match ended in a loss. He had fought Callum Walsh on the undercard of September 2025's Alvarez vs. Crawford match.

He Signaled That He Wanted To Get Back Into the Boxing World
Prior to his arrest, the boxing legend's son seemed keen to get back into the world of boxing. Just a week ago, he posted a video of himself on social media.
The video showed clips of him boxing in the ring, to the backing track of Drake's "National Treasures". The caption of the post reads, "Can't wait for my boxing return. Yall haven't seen nothing yet. Just scratching the surface #VargasDynasty".
And he might be on track to getting back into the swing of things, too. That's because he signed for BKB Bare Knuckle Boxing back in April, and won his initial fight with the org in July.
His last post on social media prior to his arrest showed him at a car meetup on September 10 just hours before his arrest. The post showed pictures of him posted up next to numerous fans.
The caption of the post read, "Love to see how LA united Reguardless of religion or race. Thats what humanity is about. Good energy #LowriderEvent #VargasDynasty".
