Writer Taylor Sheridan has created and directed several hit shows. But his biggest claim to fame has to be Yellowstone.

The program aired on Paramount for five seasons from 2018 to 2024. follows the conflicts surrounding the massive Yellowstone Dutton Ranch in Montana, bordered by land developers, an Indian reservation, and America's first national park.
Actor Calls 'Yellowstone' A Soap Opera
Even though the show falls under the drama category, one actor believes it has some of the elements to qualify as a soap opera. The Bold & The Beautiful star Don Diamante recently sat down with PEOPLE to discuss his longstanding role in the hit soap opera. He says that a big part of the success of the show is the relationship that audiences have with the characters. He went on to say that shows like Yellowstone and Grey's Anatomy have enjoyed the same success for that very reason.
"The audience builds relationships with daytime characters that are different than nighttime, than film, even nighttime soap operas. I mean, for all intents and purposes, Yellowstone or Grey's Anatomy or any of these shows, they are soap operas," he said to the outlet.
"Maybe Grey's Anatomy is a really good example in nighttime, as a nighttime soap opera, of the loyalty of an audience. An audience feels that those characters are almost family."
Diamante is not the only person who can see the genius in Taylor Jenkins' writing. Big screen legend Morgan Freeman had high praise for him as well.
Freeman says one of the reasons that he believes Sheridan has had so much success as a writer is his ability to make the audience connect with the "human experience" of his characters.
It has more to do with the human experience, what people are actually going through, emotionally, in a lot of cases," Freeman said as caught by PEOPLE. "You saw that a lot in Yellowstone, and you actually see it a lot in any of his writings."
