Edgerrin James Says Son is Struggling With Drug Use
In a message shared to X, formerly known as Twitter, James said that Jizzle is currently dealing with a substance abuse issue.
"Jizzle is dealing with substance abuse and is NOT in the right state of mind right now," the former Indiana Colts running back wrote on social media on Tuesday (September 8).
He also encouraged the people who are close to him to not give him any money. Because, by doing so, they would be "feeding the problem."
"If you see him, show him LOVE. But DO NOT give him money, valuables, or anything material. You're not helping him by feeding the problem. He wants/needs NOTHING. Hug him, give him encouragement, give him love. THAT'S IT. Be patient with him. We're fighting for him, not against him.
Jizzle James Shared Concerning Social Media Post
The message from the elder James appeared to be in response to Jizzle's recent social media activity. After Wes Miller dismissed Jizzle from the men's basketball program at the University of Charlotte earlier this summer, he insisted that it was not the end of his college basketball career. He made claims that he planned on returning to the men's hoops program at the University of Cincinnati. A representative of the school apparently reached out to Jizzle and told him to stop aligning himself with the program.
"As you are no longer a member of the University of Cincinnati men's basketball program," the text reads, as caught by Sports Illustrated. " You are no longer authorized to use, represent, or commercially promote the University of Cincinnati basketball program, including the use of the University's name, logos, uniforms, jerseys, or other team-related likenesses. Any sale, advertisement, or distribution of University of Cincinnati basketball jerseys or merchandise representing you as a current player is strictly prohibited.
In response to the text Jizzle said:
"I have my own merch I made. I don't need y'all jerseys, and f*** Cincinnati for all I care. Ya'll some h**s"
He also insists that he is still in playing shape in the post.
"Point guard for sale, ready to smoke whoever," the post adds.
