Lucia Sisic has died at the age of just 22 years old. As reported by People, she was the reigning Miss Austria beauty queen.
According to local reports, her cause of death has not been revealed. However, it was known that the beauty queen had a heart valve defect and had undergone several operations in order to mitigate the condition.
Mission Austria, the organizers of Miss Austria, confirmed her passing on social media. They posted a touching tribute in German to the beauty queen.
"It is with great shock and deep sorrow that we have learned of the passing of our Miss Austria 2024, Lucia Sisic," they
"Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to her family, friends, and all those close to her during this difficult time." The message finished with a personal note from the CEO of Mission Austria, Kerstin Rigger. "Dear Lucia, you will always remain a part of our Miss Austria family. Rest in peace."
Sisic had won the Miss Austria beauty pageant in 2024. Since then, there have been no more pageants for the competition, making her the reigning queen. This was something she had been using in order to promote several events in the past.

The Beauty Queen Had a History of Surgeries
Per local German-language outlet Die Presse, Sisic's last heart operation happened over the winter.
As well as this, she'd thanked specialists on social media in the past for helping her with her condition. Because her condition originated from birth, she needed help from pediatric cardiology specialists.
She wrote in 2024, "Thanks to the specialists and the dedicated doctors, who have always saved my life with great efforts, I have overcome many difficult moments and have been able to live a fulfilling life."
This comes after another tragic recent death of a Miss beauty pageant queen. In July, LaToya Malcolm, a finalist in Miss Universe Jamaica, tragically passed away at 35 years old.
